I was so excited when Olivia and Philip booked me to photograph their wedding at Gidleigh Park Hotel on Dartmoor. Being so tucked away just a couple of miles from Chagford, with it’s stunning views and grounds it makes the perfect venue for a private get-away on the edge of Dartmoor.
Zara and Oliver’s day was a long time coming - about 2 years since they had first booked me!!
But it’s amazing how quickly these days come around and before I knew it, it was their turn. I started with the girls at Zara’s home in Cullompton while my second shooter for the day Steph, went to see the boys.
I was very excited to be able to get the chance to photograph at this stunning venue last summer! Not far from Exeter lies the very impressive Rockbeare Manor set within 100 acres of grounds, its current owners has given the house a new lease of life which makes it the perfect countryside venue not far from the city.
When Ellie first contacted me to say they were getting married on Burgh Island, I was really hoping that they would pick me to capture their day! Having been there a couple of years ago, I couldn’t wait to go back!
I absolutely love farm weddings! There’s is something so nice about capturing a couple’s big day at the same place where they live and work, it’s so personal and relaxed.
I met Lizzie and Henry through a friend of mine and knew instantly it would be a family focused day. Lizzie was pregnant with who is now little Arthur and alongside their eldest Edward who would play a big part of the day.
I love it when a friend asks me to be their wedding photographer and when Rich and Charlie asked me to be theirs I couldn't be more excited!
The Great Barn is a hidden gem sitting between Haldon forest and Dartmoor in the small village of Higher Ashton. With the grade 1 listed church at the top of the village, it's the perfect setting for couples that want to have all their celebrations nearby.
With what was probably the most relaxed bridal prep morning I have ever had, I met Louise and her bridesmaids in the pretty village of Curry Rivel in Somerset at her parent's house just a stones throw from the church.
Burgh Island Hotel was the perfect venue for Matt and Sophie's 1930's inspired day and probably the most relaxed wedding I have ever shot! Their intimate ceremony took place in the Captain's Cabin and there wasn't a dry eye in sight!
Rebecca and Jack were married at the end of the summer after weeks of glorious hot, sunny weather. Just a few days before, the weather forecast didn't look so promising! Gale force winds and pouring rain didn't sound too much fun.
But actually on the day this didn't matter at all and Rebecca took it all in her stride - luckily that rain never came and other than a few windy moments and a veil wanting to fly away it didn't affect their day.
I was recently asked by a close friend of mine to help shoot Venetia's and Alex's wedding in St Dominick, Cornwall.
It sounded like the perfect day, a small village church ceremony followed by a reception at Venetia's parents house overlooking the river Tamar. Top this off with bright sunshine all day and yes, it was perfect!
Georgia and Ali were married in Salcombe, Devon at the very stunning Harbour Hotel.
We had a bit of a wet day, but it certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits. With 4 very energetic children excited to see their mum and dad/auntie and uncle get married, I was certainly kept on my toes!
Please take a look at a few of my favourites from the day.
